July 2nd 2023 Ascension News

Updated: Jul 6, 2023

by Marie Leone (Parish Administrator)

Hello Parish Family and Friends of the Ascension,

I hope you are all well today despite all the smoky air and petulant weather.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks as the new computer hard drives were installed in the parish office. Special thanks to Shelley who has spent a considerable amount of time in the office ensuring that my computer was up and running smoothly. There is so much happening at the church as Reverend John pointed out in his email message earlier. We try to ensure you have all the news you need to know, however, anytime you have a question feel free to email me or leave a phone message.

Happy Canada Day to all of you. I liked this quote when I saw it recently.

Canada has never been a melting-pot; more like a tossed salad.

… Arnold Edinborough

Cheers everyone ... Marie

The finance committee of a church met to discuss the pastor’s salary for the coming year. After the meeting the finance chair told the pastor: We are sorry but we decided not to give you a raise. The pastor said you must give a raise. I am a poor preacher. The chairman said: l know. We hear you every Sunday.
